On Sunday February 10th 2008 Dublin Bus launched another new Route as part of the Transport 21 Programme.This time it was the Turn of Finglas to see a new service,in the form of Route 140,Starting from St.Margaret's Road to Wilton Terrace,near Leeson Street.

Further views of AX509 On Wilton Terrace.The 140 shares this terminus with the Conyingham Road Operated Route 92,and Fellow Harristown services 127 & 129.
The Route picks up on Leeson Street,then proceeding via Nassau Street,O'Connell Street,Parnell Square,Phibsboro,Glasnevin Cemetary and along the Finglas QBC/Finglas Village Bypass to St.Margaret's Road,Charlestown Shopping Centre,Charlestown Avenue,Jamestown Road and Terminating at the new residental complex,Hampton Wood on the St.Margaret's Road.
The Route,with an every 10 minute frequency,will be mainly AX operated,Journey Times on Launch Day were around 30-35 minutes but typical journey times will be 45-60 Minutes. Given the route serves an area that has seen sporatic service,the route will do well,like it's fellow newcomers Routes 4/A,128 & 151.
