In May 2003,Dublin Bus began to withdraw some of it's 1991 Built Leyland Olimpians, although the main emphasis at the time was the withdraw of the P class.Among the withdrawn were Conyingham Road's RH77 and Ringsend's RH99.Both are seen here on Winwick Street in Warrington Town Centre on July 21st 2006.
RH77 (91-D-1077) in it's past life, now No 159 (H215 PVW) in the Warrington Fleet.New to Conyingham Road Depot in March 1991,she spent much of her early years on the Maynooth/Celbridge Routes, and her later years on the 76's and 78A.Withdrawn in August 2003,her withdrawl was strange,as she was part of a large batch (RH68-83-since sold to Ensignbus),and her replacement was RH64,withdrawn from Clontarf 2 months earlier.
RH77 Joined the Warrington Fleet in July 2004,via Ensignbus.
RH99,likewise joined Ringsend as part of the large batch of RH94-110(92&93 joining from Donnybrook later) in June 1991.She would have spent some early time on the 15's although by the time withdrawl came in July 2003,with the arrival of AV315 to Ringsend, she could be found on any Ringsend routes.Indeed, the last of her batch,RH105-110,remained in Ringsend, for the Ryder Cup in September 2006.
RH99 joined the Warrington Fleet in May 2004,becoming No 161 (H187 PVW),via Ensignbus,being renumbered to 161 in Early 2007.
No 162 is the former Dublin Bus RH92. Delivered to Donnybrook Garage in May 1991,she remained there until Route 47/A was ammended to become the 15C from Ringsend Garage, where she moved to with RH93,thus the batch became RH92-110.
RH92 was ousted from Ringsend Garage with a mechanical defect just before AV308 arrived at the depot in June/July 2003,being sold to Ensignbus and then Joining Warrington Borough Transport as H191 PTW (No 62,162 from Early '07) 2 weeks after RH99.
She is seen here at the recently completed Warrington Interchange on April 10th 2008.
Slight Flashback to July 2003,with Both RH77 and 99 seen in Dublin City Centre.RH99 was in her last week of service and RH77 had about 3 more weeks to go.
(Apoligies for the slight smudge in RH77's picture)
RH77's sister,RH76 (now H146 PVW,fleet number 160) bet it to Warrington by 4 months, arriving there in March 2004 (In Single Door layout but in Dublin Bus Core Livery apparently). No 160 seems to be the pick of the 4,seeing use frequently.
She is seen here on Goldbourne Street on September 12th 2005.
In All,Warrington have 4 Ex Dublin Bus RH Leyland Olimpians,as listed below. The Veichles all have had their Dual Door removed, scroll boxes modified, and light clusters fitted to the front and rear domes.RH76 is the only one of the 4 to reintain the Green internal seat trim, with the other 3 having the same seat trim as the Current Dublin Bus Fleet, alibet in Green rather than Blue.RH92 also reintains her Dublin bus fleet number over the stairwell.
All 4 veichles are likely to be repainted shortly into the new Network Warrington Color Scheme, indeed RH92's Dublin Bus Core livery is beginning to peel through.
04/07/2008: Update: Former Dublin Bus RA296, 307, 311, 312, 313 & 324 have all been recently been sold to Network Warrington. Hopefully photos will appear here in Due Course.
Of the 4,RH76 and 99 seem to see most use.
