2006 by far was not a quiet year in the Irish Transport Scene.Many changes took place and with 2007 dawning,Bus-Arena/Irish Terminus.com recaps briefly on 2006 and what happened,before we push into our 2007 Features.

 

 

The Year started with the arrival of VT19 & 20,and didnt take long for VT20 to ramble a bit...

The Blanchardstown Locals had a change of guard,with MV65 bringing down Passenger Minibus Operation in Dublin Bus,

The Last 2900 Class DMU's arrived from Spain........

Biofuel took off,on a trial basis at the Tours Fleet,Phibsboro Garage,

In London,main stream Devlieries of the new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 began,the first going to Metroline,

The Cork Rail route changes guard also,with Mark 4's offically entering service in the Summer of 2006,

The VL Class became one of the last Dublin Bus types to be painted into the Fleet Standard Livery,with VL4 taking first honours,

With Titan having taken over the Advertising Contract,AV347 was turned out in this scheme,

The RH fleet was decimated in Number,with the RH's being largely withdrawn,

And the new order coming into Town,helping to bring Broadstone back onto the Open Road,

RH1 found a new home,

And Conyingham Road turns AV353 out in a modified form of the Wedding Livery,

And the Luas also gets a livery modification-alibet a slight one!!!

And Ulsterbus expands it's fleet of Ayatts Bravos,with Bus Eireann having ordered 16 by years end,

The Cravens retired from Iarnrod Eireann scheduled services in December after 44 years of Loyal service,
